Truck Accident Attorney Serving Phoenix, Scottsdale, Tempe and Glendale, Arizona

The Arizona Department of Transportation enforces specific regulations regarding the size and weight of commercial trucks that travel throughout the state transporting various goods. However, these regulations still allow for extremely large and heavy trucks, particularly with the ability of trucking companies to obtain special permits for oversize load, wide-load and heavy haul trucking. When a regular driver or passenger is involved in a truck accident with one of these vehicles, the results may be catastrophic, if not deadly.

Contact a Phoenix truck accident lawyer at Goldwater Law Firm, PC today if you would like a free consultation regarding your semi truck or tractor trailer accident in Tempe, Glendale, Scottsdale, Phoenix or any of the surrounding areas in Arizona.

Size and Weight Restrictions for Trucks

Following are some of the particular regulations for large trucks in Arizona:

Legal trucking loads:

Length: 65 feet
Width: 8 feet, 6 inches
Height: 14 feet
Weight: 80,000 pounds

Oversize shipping and heavy haul loads:

Length: 120 feet
Width: 14 feet
Height: 16 feet
Weight: 250,000 pounds

A permit for an oversize or heavy haul truck load may be obtained through the Arizona Department of Transportation: Commercial Permits.

If you were injured in a truck accident and the driver or company was acting in violation with trucking regulations by the Arizona Department of Transportation, this may be grounds for a significant financial recovery. Even if these regulations were not violated, however, there may be another cause of your truck accident that can be investigated and therefore a claim filed on your behalf.
